POPnews: Farewell to Fiction

We are sad to say that as of February 28, 2020, we will no longer accept work in the category of flash fiction. B. Rose Huber, one of our founding editors and the fiction editor for the last seven years, will be stepping down from her role at the journal after the Spring 2020 issue is released.

We’re incredibly grateful for Rose’s hard work over the years and the publishing expertise that she brought to the journal. Rose’s initiative allowed us to create the POPcast, our monthly podcast about publishing, and she contributed immensely to the growth and sustainability of Pretty Owl Poetry. Thank you, Rose, for your years of service and love for fiction. You’ll be missed!

Pretty Owl Poetry will continue to publish the visual arts, traditional and nontraditional forms, prose poetry, and work that does not snugly fit into a specific genre, all with a lyrical quality. Submissions are open year round and we will continue to publish the journal on a quarterly basis with the seasons.
