Pretty Owl Poetry is pleased to announce the fourth installment of its online reading series, featuring poets and prose writers who’ve been published in the journal.

This week, we hung out with Joanna C. Valente, who read “God of Internet,” “Stepmother” and other poems from her upcoming poetry collection. You can read her poems in Issue 2.

Joanna C. Valente is a human who received her MFA in writing at Sarah Lawrence College. She is the author of Sirs & Madams (Aldrich Press, October 2014). Some of her work appears in The Paris-American, The Destroyer, The Atlas Review, El Aleph Press, and others. In 2011, she received the American Society of Poet’s Prize. She founded and currently edits Yes, Poetry; she is also a copyeditor and staff writer for Luna Luna Magazine. She resides in Brooklyn, New York
