Scott Hammer

Pretty Owl Poetry is pleased to announce the second installment of its online reading series, featuring poets and prose writers who’ve been published in the journal.

This month, we hung out with Scott Hammer, who discussed his poem/flash fiction piece “IX” featured in Issue 1 and that is part of a collection titled “Brute Sphinx.”

Scott Hammer is the author of the poetry chapbook Some Body Some Hollow (Horse Less Press, 2014). His writing has appeared in places like ILK, NAP, Baltimore Review, Noo Weekly, Vector Press, and others. He is currently writing in the space between bridges.

In this Google Hangout on Air, Scott explains the rationale behind his prose “erasures” and how his collection stemmed from a dream.

Thanks again, Scott, for “hanging” with us! And stay tuned for the next online reading.
